The board of Ally Theatre Company is inviting new board members to help steward the next chapter of our justice-driven, community-rooted work.

We create and produce theatre that confronts systemic oppression and sparks dialogue, healing, and change. Through our advocacy programming, Voices Unbarred, we center the leadership of people impacted by incarceration and collaborate with artists and policy organizations to reimagine the prison system through performance,

storytelling, and community engagement.

We are seeking individuals who are:

• Passionate about dismantling systemic oppression and reimagining the criminal legal system

• Deeply connected to DC’s communities and have skills in law, operations, fundraising, strategy, or the arts

• Interested in serving on a collaborative, imaginative, and mission-driven board

Our board members support bold storytelling, collective healing, and cultural strategy by centering the leadership of people most impacted by incarceration.

Whether you have served on a board before or are considering it for the first time, we invite you to apply. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, especially those who are system-impacted, from Black and brown communities, or emerging leaders connected to the DC area.
