Here are the best ways to help us and those we work with!

Your tax-deductible** donations support the program by allowing us to hire skilled facilitators, travel to and from prisons, and purchase materials. We also pay our returned citizens to perform the plays out in the community.

**Our funds are held by First Trinity Lutheran Church, a 501c3 organization.

Checks made out to First Trinity, and cash donations, can be mailed with a memo line or note reading "for Voices Unbarred" to:

309 E St NW

Washington, DC 20001

If you have skills in graphic design, photography, videography, law, accounting, program evaluation, or grant writing and want to be involved, we'd love to hear from you!

We are unable to have volunteers visit the prison with us at this time due to rigorous background check requirements.

We bring our workshops into jails, prisons, halfway houses, and re-entry programs. We also partner with theatres and community organizations on workshops and performances. If you know people affected by incarceration and think they might benefit from Voices Unbarred or if you would like to host a performance, let us know!
