About the event
The Eliminating Restrictive and Segregated Enclosures (ERASE) Bill was introduced back in 2023, reintroduced in 2025, and backed by several council members.
However, it has never received a hearing.
This silence has left our community without a vital, and long overdue, conversation on the practice of solitary confinement.
We are holding this Rehearsal for Change event to help community members refine their stories and strengthen their testimony through forum theatre.
We will also use games, exercises, and legislative theatre to brainstorm alternatives to solitary confinement for the next iteration of the bill before the end of the council period.
